Not sure whether I'm more intrigued by my son's idea, or bewildered about having children who think they need to protect their clerical father from the real world? Whatever images can we expect here?

I have to be careful since I remember only too well those days when I was not allowed an overly Advent calendar let alone one containing chocolates! The excitement of opening a new door on the calendar was often soon replaced with murmerings of discontent from father that the picture of a Christmas bauble was insufficiently Christian ;-)
Hmmm. I think there's definitely going to have to be a post about different perceptions of childhood, here. I'm not sure whether the objections to chocolate-filled Advent calendars were really ideological / theological, or economic i.e. we couldn't afford it. ("Cardboard box?! You were lucky!")
