Tony Price

So here's who I am. Storyteller, Wordsmith, Believer, Priest, Husband, Father, Blogger, Seeker, Child, Learner, Traveller of the Mind. "But not necessarily in the right order..."

Born 2 August 1949 My MTh Graduation

And this is me at my latest graduation (OK, the whole family collect degrees like empty single malt tins). This was me graduating with my Master's in Applied Theology, September 2001

Educated

Oakthorpe Primary School, Tile Kiln Lane 1954-60

Latymer Grammar School, Haslebury Road, Edmonton N.9 1960-67
If you remember either of those, have you registered with Friends Reunited?

Lincoln College, Oxford 1967-71 B.A. in Modern Languages (German and French)

Polytechnic of North London Library School 1973

Cranmer Hall, Durham 1976-79 B.A. in Theology

Westminster College, Oxford (Distance Learning, 1996-2001) MTh in Applied Theology

I've worked as

Assistant Librarian, London Borough of Barnet, 1971-76, first as a trainee, then at Osidge and Golders Green branch libraries.

After ordination in the Church of England in 1979 I have served as

Curate of St Paul's, St Albans, 1979-81

Curate of Wootton, Bedfordshire, and Minister in Charge of Stewartby United Church, 1981-85

Team Vicar of St Mary's Lydiard Tregoze in the Lydiards Team Ministry, West Swindon, 1985-90

Vicar of Marston, Oxford from 1991

Vicar of Marston with Elsfield from 1995

And Rural Dean of Cowley from 1997 to 2002. I've happily handed this task on to a successor, so that (the theory is) I can give more time to what I want to do.

I'm married to

Dr Alison Jean Price (née Borshell).Alison with children
(Right, with a primary maths class)
We were married on 23rd March 1974 - one of the best decisions I ever made!

In 2000 she was the first student ever to complete a part-time DPhil at the University of Oxford. Her thesis is called Communication, Construction and Community: Learning Addition in Primary Classrooms. (That's about as much of it as I understand ...) She's called Dr Alison.

We have four beautiful children:

Tom, Martha, Naomi, Esther. The girls don't have their own websites (yet!)
