Alison's 1998 S-reg Nissan Micra had a special place in her heart, partly because the model name was "Ally" - it felt like her car. That's what makes its total destruction particularly hurtful.
Once again we expect to find that motor insurance is all very fine and good - until you want to make an actual claim. The latest stage towards this was today's removal of the wreck. One man and his hydraulic lift were a match for this: the wreck was duly pulled out of the rubble, lifted over the security fence, and dropped onto the bed of the lorry to be driven away.
Adieu, sweet Ally. Rest in Peace.
